Fluid and spouted bed systems of various designs and sizes are used for granulation, agglomeration, coating or heat transfer processes such as drying or cooling in a great variety of industries. In the food industry, the focus is on the production and finishing of various solid product forms with accurately defined properties. Besides product properties, also production and product safety are essential elements when establishing such processes. In particular relevant hygienic conditions require the compliance with specific planning and design principles for the plant concept.

The faculty for Process and System Technology of the Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg (OVGU) has awarded an honorary doctorate to Reinhard Böber, Managing Director of Glatt Ingenieurtechnik Weimar, for his contributions to the development and industrial implementation of fluid bed technology on 25/11/2011. An honorary doctorate is considered the highest award granted by the university to merited external personalities.

In Scandinavia, Glatt Ingenieurtechnik GmbH completed a fluid bed plant for continuous additive coating with a capacity of several tons of additives per hour. The customer is a worldwide operating producer for a wide range of different products. These additives are used in various industries like feed, food and fine chemicals.

From the feasibility study to the production plant
Glatt's Technology Center in Weimar stands for innovative technologies for the production of granules and pellets from powders and/or solid-containing liquids. In the last 12 months alone, more than 120 customers from 17 countries used our advanced equipment to develop new product forms by feasibility studies or to optimize the properties of already established products for their production processes. Apparatuses and plants of different sizes are available for such studies - from a laboratory via a pilot up to a production scale.
