History
Today's Glatt Ingenieurtechnik GmbH (GIT) started out in 1981 as
a working group looking into "continuous fluid bed" technology
at a research institute in Weimar. Its aim - to develop a new continuous
fluid bed technique for the granulation drying of fluids. As early
as 1983, the first production facility for granulation drying (AGT)
was commissioned. In 1991, the working group was taken over as part
of the political and economic restructuring process then taking
place at Glatt in Binzen, and the company Glatt Ingenieurtechnik
was founded in Weimar.
This marked the start of a headlong development. The Weimar-based engineering
team also specialized in the planning and implementation of individual process
lines through to complete turnkey projects.
The workforce size quadrupled within just 10 years.
2000 saw the opening of an office Moscow, and in 2001 a new branch of GIT was
founded in Wiesbaden in the State of Hesse.
