During the last BRG International Workshop on Bioencapsulation in Vienna the traditional “TTC best poster award” was presented to Miss San San Kuang, a Ph.D. student from University College Cork, Ireland for her excellent poster titled “Development and characterization of microcapsules containing acetylsalicylic acid for long term suspension in acidic aqueous environment”.

The poster was selected by Dr. Christine Wandrey from the EPFL Lausanne and Prof. Thierry Vandamme from the Strasbourg Louis-Pasteur University, both renowned TTC speakers.

The prize consists of a free participation at the TTC workshop of ones choice, including travel and accommodation costs.

Last autumn, in cooperation with Evonik and Trinity College Dublin Glatt organised a pharmaceutical workshop on particle coating.

The first afternoon was dedicated to lectures on state-of-the-art process technologies, and the
following morning to coating demonstrations. The almost 50 people who attended the event
were as pleased with the lectures and demonstrations as with the gourmet dinner in the evening.
