Direct pelletizing

The solution for manufacturing pellets directly from powder

Direct pelletizing permits pellets to be made directly from powder ingredients. Their regular form and surface are extremely suitable for applying even film, such as needed, e.g., for a controlled release of active ingredients.

Direct pelletizing is performed in three steps: The powder mixture is moistened, the moist mass is rounded into pellets, the finished product is dried. All processing steps take place as a one-tank method in the fluidized bed rotor process.

The process also permits manufacturing micro-pellets of 100 to 300 micrometers. Pellets manufactured in this way often contain microcrystalline cellulose. The abrasion resistant, round pellets have a defined surface and a narrow particle size spectrum.
