Why Glatt as an employer?
Family owned company
The Glatt company was founded in 1954 by Werner Glatt in the Markgräflerland region of southern Germany. Initially, we manufactured stovepipes, but the portfolio soon expanded. Energetic family members as well as new employees complemented the workforce and ensured rapid growth and sustained success.
In 1990, Werner Glatt handed over the reins to his son-in-law Reiner Nowak, who still manages the group of companies today, together with his four children. Under Reiner Nowak’s leadership, the expansion of the group of companies has continued with great success.
Our origins as a family business are still strongly anchored in our DNA today, which is why people are always at the center of our focus. We owe our success as a group of companies first and foremost to our employees, many of whom have remained loyal to us for decades.

We are known in particular for fluid bed technology, in which we can call ourselves a pioneer and act as global experts with our incomparable wealth of knowledge. But we also exceed our customers’ expectations with our other products and services, such as process development for the pharmaceutical and related powder processing industries and factory design. Working at Glatt means working for the market leader – our employees also feel this in their daily work and it opens doors.
Because we serve customers all over the world, a good global network is essential. Our representatives in many countries where we are not represented by a site help us to reach our customers exactly where they are.
For our customers and their constantly changing, individual requirements, we focus on the continuous optimization of our process technologies and contribute to the further development of the entire industry with new innovations. Here, Glatt stands for inventiveness, the engineering spirit and progress.
Broad spectrum
As the Glatt Group, we offer our customers a very broad portfolio of products and services. We are particularly well-known for our fluid bed systems. These are plants with which powders can be dried, granulated or coated. Our customers then use them to produce tablets for the consumer. Our product range also includes systems for coating tablets and producing pellets.
In the meantime, our service portfolio has grown considerably and we accompany our customers from the product idea, through formulation development in the laboratory, process or product optimization, to the commercial manufacturing of products and factory planning. With our innovative technologies of powder synthesis and PHOS4green, we can also support our customers with particle design and phosphorus recycling.
As the Glatt Group, we also have strong partner companies that usefully complement our service portfolio.
