Glatt takes responsibility
“For us as a family business with a long-term approach, sustainability is an essential element of our responsibility for the future. This is reflected in our current and future measures in resource conservation and climate and environmental protection. In addition, sustainability remains an integral part of our management and value system towards employees and society.”
Jay Nowak, CEO of the Glatt Group
Corporate Social Responsibility
Taking responsibility
We demonstrate our regional responsibility at our various sites by supporting organizations and initiatives, such as school projects in Germany and India, and the regional procurement of goods or food for our company restaurant.
As a responsible family business, we see our employees and their interests as the key to our long-term success. In order to continue to be successful in a dynamic environment, we create an environment that enables our employees to fully develop their potential and continuously grow with a high level of innovation, passion, cooperation, flexibility and transparency.
We see the diversity of our workforce as an opportunity and support mixed teams at all levels. Different cultural backgrounds, life experiences and talents of our employees enrich the cooperation and help to identify and serve the needs of our customers in the best possible way.
Accordingly, we want to be an attractive employer for every single person – regardless of origin, gender, religion or sexual identity.
We see the professional and personal development of our employees as an important basis for a secure and dynamic future for the Glatt Group. We therefore promote the skills of our employees with a wide range of training and professional qualifications. In doing so, we work closely with external partners.
Sustainability
Save natural resources
The issue of sustainability is an integral part of the management of our company. We make important investment decisions with sustainability in mind and invest specifically in the conservation of natural resources. In the area of innovation, we consciously use our competencies to develop new technologies and solutions to reduce resource consumption and promote the circular economy (e.g. phosphorus recovery from sewage sludge ash). The topics of research and development are among the cornerstones of our company, which is reflected in our numerous research, development as well as cooperation projects.
Some of our sites are already certified according to DIN ISO 14001, operate a corresponding environmental management system and have EcoVadis certification.
Sustainability in the supply chain
German Supply Chain Act (Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz)
Responsibility, appreciation and ethical principles are particularly important to us. Social commitment and consideration for our environment are just as important to us as the well-being of the individual and our society.
Respect for human rights in the context of our business activities and the entire value chain is therefore a fundamental component of responsible corporate governance for us. Our aim is also to strengthen human and environmental rights in our daily activities and to prevent their violation in advance as part of our business activities. We have set out our strategy for respecting human rights and environmental concerns in our policy statement. In addition to describing our risk management, this also contains the main human rights and environmental risks we have identified and our expectations of our suppliers.
Information on human rights and environmental risks as well as violations of human rights or environmental obligations arising from Glatt’s business activities in its own business area (including Group companies) or those of a direct or indirect supplier can be reported via our Reporting Portal.
With the report on the German Supply Chain Act, we will report annually from 2025 on human rights and environmental aspects.
